Went for another interview today, at Orchard this time round ...

But, not before running errands for my mum allll the way to Clementi.

& to my utter delight - note the sarcasm, I realised that I forgot to bring my wallet with my money and IC along with me only after I reached Clementi. Continued with errand, & got to train allll the way back to Katib, go alllll the way back home, get my wallet, & then train alllll the way to Orchard.

Yep, it was eventful.

Was starving mad by the time I reached Orchard, cause I didn't eat nor drink anything since I woke up.

Thank God for breadtalk @ Wisma, I'm forever grateful.

Oh, & there were very cute little cookies being sold there too! Was so tempted to buyyyy.

When I see old couples still holding each others hands, when I see grandparents eating happily with their grandchildren at fast food outlets, when I see the husband still sharing his food with his wife & looking her lovingly despite all those years that had passed, the wrinkles, the white hair. I feel touched, I felt their love, I felt envious.

And then I wonder, will such love still exist in such peaceful times? These old couples that I see now have undoubtedly been through thick & thin together, fulfilling every bit of the sacred vow 'for better or for worst, for richer, for poorer, in sickness & in health, to love & to cherish, from this day forward until death do us part'.

Many couples in our current society have recited the same vows, I say recited because how many have meant it wholeheartedly? How many have been able to stick to it? As the divorce rates gets higher, as the number of teenage pregnancy increases, true love seems like a fairy tale. There is no prince charming, & we're not princesses.

I feel touch to see the love and care still found between the old couples because sometimes true love and sincerity can only be found from someone who has nothing to give. So what if your millionaire husband gives you a 12 carat ring? But will he share his bread with you when you 2 are on the brink of starvation?

The loving old couples that I see now, I wonder if I can still see them when I'm 80 years old, wrinkled & toothless, but still a princess in our princes' heart.

I did what I thought I should've done just now ... I weighed my options, the pros & cons, possible consequences - both good & bad & did what I thought was right.

And then it occurred to me; What if what I thought was wrong? Despite my best of intentions, I did something wrong. Then how do I tell? How does doing the right thing feel like?

Doing what my mind tells me is right yet feeling so uneasy, or doing what I would feel better about even though my mind thinks otherwise?

I know that sometimes doing the right thing takes courage & isn't easy, but how does it feel? Will it feel right too?

Today's pretty much the same old boring day,

Gawd, it's been hot for the whole freaking day. Morning till evening, scorching sun. I swear if I accidentally drop an egg on the floor, or on my head, the egg will fry.

Right back to my same old boring day talk, as usual, went back to help my mum @ her canteen stall while I wait for a proper office job. Tik tok tik tok.

Mummy made me tomyam ramen for lunch when the student crowd receded. I added the smoked duck on my own :> I love her smoke duck, or rather, her supplier's smoked duck. Its all chewy & nice & awesome unlike those dry & roasted ones I always see outside. Its the only duck I eat, yep.

Look! Even in pictures my smoked duck looks so soft & yummy! :9

Should remind myself to get some for boyfriend the next time we meet! He'll love it too!

I may not believe in the so called "prosperity", "good luck/fortune" etc etc that people claim "lou hei" brings anymore. We do that every year, the same things were always prayed. Good health, wealth, luck ... But the same people may fall sick, may pass away, pay go bankrupt & other unfortunate events.

I pray for good health for my families, but where did my 2 loved ones go?

Nevertheless, I do enjoy the get together time, & enjoying the plate after everything, but with less hope this time.

Was worrying about how to smuggle Adriel in (Cause he's only 17) & my baby bro (In case they insist that his birthday must be over to be considered 18 ...) but I was the one being checked at the end of the day.

None of them were checked, Wth!

The movie was average, prolly cause I've forgotten most of the storyline.

But hell, the hybrid daughter is damn scary (or ugly, a thin line of difference only anyway) -Whoops, spoiler alert?

Neeways, I'd give the movie like, 3/5★?

So I heard that my baby cousin's been staring enviously at children with their dads whenever he goes out. Especially when he's at the park downstairs. & then my heart aches ...

Others may say words like, "Life's never been kind" - nor fair. Or, "There are many others that are at a worst plight". Typical examples or situations given would be the starving kids in Africa/Ethiopia, the suffering people in the middle of war. The less exaggerated ones would be the other kids who had lost their fathers as well, parents who have lost their children, couples who lost the love of their life ... I do not deny the fact that there are people out there who are having it worst than what we are having now, but be that as it may ... I only know my pain, I only feel mine. & I understand Adsel's.

I used to be that kid that is looking enviously at others, not that I am no longer envious. I just got stronger & knew how to handle it better. I used to wonder why I can't have a typical family with a father as breadwinner. I used to wonder why I can't have a father like Adsel's. & then, he became like a father to me anyway. He treated me like a daughter, & I treated him as a father as well, but with more gratitude. Now that they have lost their father, it felt like I have lost mine all over again.

I know there is no way to help Adsel to not feel this way. He has a more than loving father, & he will definitely miss him throughout his life. The envy will follow him irregardless, but he will learn how to accept things the way there are, & be happy with the rest of us that he still have. Probably not now, not soon, but gradually. Because the yearning for a father does not end with age nor maturity, but only seemingly so because those who have their fathers with them begin to take them for-granted ...

I just wish I can make things better for him, truly I do ...

so I went to town & high tea today w my 2 aunties, bro & cousin(;

1st stop; Taka

Pretty pretty sworovski crystals, can't wait to have a decent job next time & buy them as gifts to my sis & uncle!

2nd stop; Wisma

Got a lil' hungry, so we settled for TCC @ wisma for something light;

One of my aunty had this seafood pasta as something "light", get what I mean now? Lol

I had smoked salmon salad(: That's what I called "light", & delicious.

But I find that even the word "delicious" doesn't do the smoked salmon enough justice, a better word anyone?

How can we not have coffee when we're already @ TCC right?

One aunty ordered this yummy yummy coffee (I forgot what its called), but its the only cup w marshmallows, good combi of sweetness & coffee aroma 4/5★

I had my nutty frappuccino (or at least that's what I think its called), & my aunty had her mint chocolate.

Too sweet for my taste, wish I had ordered the marshmallow one instead. It'll be prefect for all sweet tooth(s) out there though!(;

& then we went to Ion for more walkings before meeting the 2 boys (Jeryl & Adriel) @ Raffles station.

Oh, the one in grey was the one who had pasta as something "light" & the one in pink was the one who got the coffee w marshmallows.

All of them had tea except for me, iced coffee as usual(;

If I remember correctly, the teas ordered (individual orders you see, but they come in pots!) were, fruit mountain (Adriel's), "orange wood" (Grey aunty), "Silver moon" (Jeryl) & the last one I can't remember what its called, but comes w a tinge of apple taste.

The more awesome ones, & the drop dead awesome ones were already in my mouth before I remembered to take a picture of them. What? I couldn't help it!

But if you refer to the pastries on the 3 tier stand that I took above, my absolute favourite is the small tart look-alike beside this cone-like pastry in the 2nd level, followed by this small biscuit w cheese on top beside the bagel look-alike also on the 2nd level ... They're like ... like ... omgggggg, I want somemoreeeeeeeee

Then we even managed to catch a rainbow by surprise!

Went to Suntec's carrefour to buy some groceries & finally, home sweet home! :>

The food that I had today were absolutely, delicious, so worth the trip, & money - not that I paid any, but still ... & me running like mad when I got home. Burn those fats y'knw?

My day would've been perfect if my kind-of-like my favourite pair of silver gladiator sandals wasn't ruined :(

Anyways, had my chinese new year spent @ home yesterdayy, dint blog cause I was busy playing texas poker w my family!

Just came back to my room after wishing my family members, & I feel ... the same.

Neeways, had my 3rd reunion dinner today, this time @ my own place (yesterday's was @ a relative's),

had steamboat! :D

LOL, I kinda irritated my cousins with all my senseless chanting (as you can see above), I really went around chanting (or cheering, whatever you call it) whatever I see. Hahahaha.

So ... The food was good, the shabu shabu was awesome-o! The fruit punch prolly a little too sweet. But the shabu shabu was mad awesome, so it made everything okay :D

The adults played texas poker in the living room while us kids went to the room (switch on the air-con) & got ourselves busy with tv (FREE PROGRAMMES!) & nonsense chatting(: We had fun, I had fun.

Had breakfast @ Northpoint, Grandpa got his new glasses, & visited uncle @ the church of the holy spirits this morning as well. Uncle looks fine (as I would like to imagine it), did a prayer for him, all of us. Tears are still uncontrollable whenever we see him, in such a manner, but oh well ... Lunched @ Thomson plaza "kopitiam" after that, & I'll never step food in there again.

& that's about it, except for this dilemma I'm having now. Boyfriend's birthday party is on next Saturday, & I wanna be as skinny as possible. But there's so many food to finish, so many Mandarin oranges, so many pineapple tarts (omg, I love pineapple tars, the flower designed ones), so many kuay bangkit, so many love letters (the edible ones), so many many many ... foooooddddddddddd. & as I type & grumble I just finished "Terry's chocolate orange", if you don't know what it is, then just imagine a round chocolate the size of an orange & tastes heavenly.

Life's always all about delimma, I either don't eat & miss the good, awesome, drop from heaven, food, to lose as much weight as possible, or I eat, & ... get fat.

It's our first reunion w/o my uncle, maybe the 2nd rainbow represents his presence. Or at least I'd like to think so. Of course we're all missing him & wishing he'd be here with us. But it's all that we can do, all that's left for us. The missing.

Anyways, shall have an early night (though it's already midnight). Long & early day tomorrow!

Gonna have breakfast with family & visit uncle at the columbarium tomorrow, & another reunion ....

I had a dream 2 days ago that was so hauntingly real, planted several thoughts, gave me several epiphany, affected me quite a lot. But in a good way.

In my dream, I dreamt that I was dying. Not laying sickly in the bed waiting for death nor meeting up with an accident, but more of like ... An angel who was supposed to pick me up told me that I have a day left before I'll have to leave them, my love ones for good. It didn't affect me initially, I've always been someone who took life lightly. I always think that even if I were to leave this world, any time, any day, I would not have an issue, & too insignificant to be of an issue for others as well.

It was until I had minutes left to bid my final farewell that I had this pool of emotions, worry, sadness, dreadfulness etc etc. I remember in my dream I called Vike to tell him how much I love him, to find happiness again, to not forget to look after my mum. I remembered telling my mum in a rush that I love her, to take care of herself, to not be too devastated when I had only seconds left. & I remembered that for every word, every sentence that I told them, wishing so much that I could be the one instead. To give Vike happiness, to look after our parents together.

& I woke up, & I sincerely thank God with all my heart that I'm alive - for now, I can still be the one to give him happiness, to look after my mum.

My dream made me realise that life truly is vulnerable and unpredictable. I'm sure my uncle never thought that he'd leave us, through accidents, through health conditions, our lives can be so easily taken away within a flick of finger. & what's left would be the tears of love ones, missing, loss, & many many unfulfilled possibilities. Of course I'm sure all of us have read, heard or been told about the vulnerability & unpredictability of life, to cherish, to treasure, to treat every day as our last. But how often do we heed these advise? I guess its in our nature - except for a rare few, to not understand the importance until we're in the situation itself, until we've loss what's ours. We are humans after all.

What I truly wish to establish here is, find someone to live for. To those who seem to find no purpose in life, just living day to day aimlessly. Find someone to live for. Even if its just living from day to day, breathing, it may be of significant value to another. Your survival may be the happiness of another.

Perhaps its because I've been through the grief of losing my loved ones, that I do not wish to have them on those that I love.

& I'd like to thank God for letting me have Vike to live for, to have a mother to live for. & perhaps thank for my uncle for such a significant dream, to help me realise the greater value in life.

Truly, I feel bad to ending such a thought provoking, seemingly deep in depth post with a small insignificant materialistic problem, but I'm Tabitha. So ...

Ran errands for my mum first & then had our couple time!;

Went to Plaza Sing to shop for a new dress shirt & tie for his upcoming birthday partyy;

Managed to get a sleak black dress shirt from one of the shops (forgot what's it called :/)@ ps & then a nice maroon coloured tie from "Man Studio" @ Northpoint.

Walked around the other shops as well & stopped to have tea break @ secret recipe!

I had apple crumble cheesecake, it was okayy.

Was torned between the other flavoured cheesecakes though! Like the authentic NY cheesecake, the melted strawberry cheesecake, oreo cheesecake. Oh, & the tiramisu & chocolate banana ... Hmm, wonder if there's a "cake buffet" available, that'd be my praradise!

Boyfriend got my angry, or irritated, or pissed. Idk, its a mixture of emotions that made me wanna strangle him, bbq marshmallows instead of trying to save him in the event that he goes on fire. I had my long awaited meet up with my favourite clique today! :D

Met up with Nina first at Katib mrt before training to Orchard station together to meet up with the rest;

went to Spruce cafe!

The food there are all really delicious and ... Not very expensive I suppose ... If you are working or well off.

The dishes we ordered, along with the drinks were mostly around $30 tops. Mine together cost onlyyy $25-ish? Yea ...

Think I mayy wanna visit there again to go for their yummy yummy oh so yummy looking cakes with Vike next time when he has the car. Car, very important. Cause that place isn't the most accessible of places. Almost died of heat stroke.

We went our separate ways after that ... Some went home, some went their boyfriend's home ...

But Vike & I stayed to walk around for a bit. Mainly, forever21. LOL. It was a short & painless one though (if you are pitying him), went home soon after.

Geeee, today's actually a pretty short day but it felt so long. Maybe's the sun. Its been so long since I woke up before the afternoon too. Damn, I need to do something about my sleeping patterns/habits.

Went out with boyfriend for the day to have a little "celebration"(:

The brownie turned out to be very different from the menu. More pathetic looking ...

But ohwell, the organisation knows how to protect their ass I must say. It's already stated in the menu that they may not necessary turn out the same ~ The main meal that we had weren't any better either.

So ... as much as I'd like to try out the other yummy looking food in the menu. Like the "triple meltz waffle" ... Guess not. Not worth the risk, and moneyyy.

Drove to "Hotel Re!" to check out the hall for boyfriend's birthday party.

The hall itself is really nice. Getting me excited in the decoration & the birthday party itself! But 28Jan seems an awfully long period ~~~ But, that also means more time to source for decorations, & my "what to wear, where to buy" issues, & most. importantly. Boyfriend's birthday present.

Apparently sis's company booked one entire "hall" for them to watch for free.

Nevertheless, the movie is really way nicer than it seemed.

I thought it's gonna be a boring film, but in the end its really very touching & heartwarming.

Those fried red bean pancakes have always been a favourite of mine, whichever restaurant I go.

Went with this group of 12 ...

Anil, Cristian, Deon, Ernest, Fadz, Huimin, Joshua, Lester, Vike, Weeyang & Weiling.

DAY1

-The day that we set off for Genting;

Cabbed to Goldenmile tower (or complex? got confused with them both, again) w Deon & Huimin.

Breakfast there, & got onto the coach @ 6.40 am.

Singapore custom, Malaysia custom ... yadayadayada.

1 stop for lunch break ... another stop for toilet break, yada.yada.yada.

Then finally, the turning & turning, & more turning till we reach Genting!

(Not much pictures on the bus ride cause I slept most of my way through)

Reached Genting by 1, but could only check into the hotel (Firstworld hotel btw) @ 3 .........

So decided to have lunch first, but we split up cause we have different preferences.

Boyfriend & I went for pizzahut which was expensive ttm maaaaaaaan,

2 sets of garlic bread, 2 pizzas & 2 mineral water for 100 over ringgit.

But we were stupid on our own part, we mistook the "pan" pizza for the personal pan pizza we have in Singapore.

Finally got into our respective rooms, all located @ the 11th floooorrr!

& changed.

Anil's recommendation, I love the ... I forgot what flavour it was but its the lighter coloured one in the photo. Lol

My nickname's there, "Tabbbyyyy" :D

Again, the group split cause of different preferences.

Anil, Huimin, Weeyang & Weiling set off to their "strawberry farm" while the rest of us remained at Genting.

Starbucks w boyfriend & Ernest while the rest went back to their rooms to slack ...

It was too early anyway, we woke up @ 8 but the outdoor theme park opens only @ ... 11?

There was such a pathetic lack of options that we ended up taking the indoor carousel, which we were not allowed to sit on the horses! (But it was my suggestion to begin with, haha!)

The station master said the horses can't take our heavy weight :(

Almost all of one did, some on the wrist, some at the back of our neck (like mine), & on the hand (like boyfriend's), Huimin had a little dinosaur airbrushed on her chest area as well(:

-Time to pack up & go back to Singapore

Breakfast @ pizzahut, this time cheaper cause everyone shared.

The trip back was wayyyyyyyy worst than the trip to Genting ...

Puked like crazy, cause the bus was shaking like crazy as well.

I felt terrible, horrible, I felt like I'm never gonna make it home.

But I made it in the end! ☺☺☺

Ohwell, here's the end of my Genting trip.

Rather memorable, but goodbye Genting, I'm probably not gonna visit you anymore, fare well.

Still wondering if I've brought enough, or too little, or ... too much. It's just so much more troublesome for girls y'knw, the inner wear, the outer wear, the tops, the bottons, the toiletries yadayada ... But I think I'm done packing(: -Until my mum comes home from work that is, she'll run through the stuffs & prolly stuff more "necessities" in there.

Met up with boyfriend to go back to the main firm to get our instructions ... For our job ...

Remember I said we got a job? Yea, that job ... Come to think of it its really more of like a con job. 30dec 7-11 pm for $10/hr, & 31dec 9-1pm $15/hr. Cab fares were capped at only $20 per person. One word for the company, CHEAPSKATE. Just the miserable $100 but so many blisters, & didn't really get to party for the new year ... & I gotta work while sick too. Damn, seems sucky to begin a new year ya?

Was down at CQ early, Oh! I didn't mention that the 7-11 we were posted to were at Clarke Quay did we? Haha, we were posted there. But different stores though :( But near enough, he skived to visit me often, enough :p We got there early, so decided to walk around the area ...

Bought him a toy minion (the one from "Despicable Me") from one of the temporary stalls @ CQ.

Walked around Liang Court & decided to get some snacks, settled for some Japanese wrap thingy.

caught this series of hk drama ... Merlin season 4 ... Oh & just now? The legend of Chun Li (A really low production ridiculous movie, a hint? The Chun Li in the movie was a ABC & doesn't know chinese ... I rest my case.) & now ... Inception.

Neeways, today was a bore ~

Woke up at 4 in the near evening, I'm such a pig I know. But I'm sick!

Met up with sissy @ Northpoint for dinner, her husband came along, mehhhh.

It's not like I don't like him, but, I'd prefer a more sister bonding session ... Which I hardly have now.

Treated them for dinner since I've gotten my puny pay from the tour guide job, finally.

Window shopped a little, returned my books to the library & borrowed a new one.

Well, not exactly "new" as per say, cause I've read it before. Just borrowed it to read it again :>

& I only borrowed one cause there weren't any of her books left on the shelf.

Gotta go somewhere else to hunt for more of her books soon so that I have something to read for my trip to Genting.

Just when I thought that today's another boring, uneventful day,

it turned out to be one of the most meaningful day I've ever had(:

Accompanied boyfriend to have his dinner just now (before he goes off clubbing) & was already on my way home ...

Saw a poor lost Yorkshire terrier puppy (or adult dog, idk) dangerously loitering at the roadside.

Almost got hit by the moving vehicles for numerous number of times! Vike & I found it necessary to get him safe from the road before deciding what to do next. Chased him all over katib, literally.

Finally got it calmed down at a bus stop, & got Vike to call the spca for help. Then told him to hurry to the supermarket to get some dog food for him (he looked starved). & we were right, he downed 2 packets of cesar dog food! After several tries & persuasions, it finally allowed me to carry him(: Then told Vike to get him a bottle of water (cause he looked thirsty as well), & yep! Was right again(;

Carried him back to my house to wait for the spca staff to collect it.

-They just came & took it away ...

Can't help but have this feeling of betrayal towards the puppy :(

Somehow he felt safe with me & was very comfortable with me carrying him (I dint wanna put him down), & got to like me even :> He's always licking me & wagging his tail. Until the spca staff came & he looked all scared again.

I can't adopt him cause I already have russ russ, now I really hope that Vike can persuade his parents to adopt it. So cute so adorable so helpless, he deserves nothing less than a kind, loving & responsible family to look after it with love & care ...

Met up with boyfriend earlyyyyyyyy in the morning (actually its just 9) to have breakfast together before going for the interview.

But its just gonna be for 2 days (30 & 31 dec) from 7pm till midnight. Would've been happier if they can give me my pay immediately after the 2 days though :( So broke now #fml

After an hour or so, we trained back to Yishun for our lunch, finally got to try my garlic naan @ the food court!

Gotta say that the garlic naan @ The banana leaf was better though, but I'm still gonna try their butter naan the next time(; hmmmmmmmm~

Went back to her place to do our nails together.

She taught me how to do fake nails. I chose a pink fake nail set & decorated it with black polka dots :D

So I got it removed just nao! (It felt uncomfortable & I found it ugly)

The manicure shop that I went to to help remove my fake nails told me not to use fake nails often cause the glue harms our own nails, shall heed their advice!

Finally something to blog about(:

Met up with boyfriend for my breakfast (his lunch) in the afternoon ;

Wanted to satisfy my thosai cravings (mind you, I've been wanting it for almost a week alreadyy) @ Katib's mufiz, but they said I had to wait till 4 before they start selling thosai again, wth! So had no choice but to have my usual peanut pancake & redbean pancake (again) @ the usual coffeeshop.

Walked around the pasa malam again then decided to walk to northpoint(: Bought shorts from cotton on & thought I had a good buy until I tried it on & it doesn't fit my big fat fuckity ass :(

Finally got my thosai craving satisfied @ northpoint's foodcourt. Just realised that the stall sells naan too!

Mmmmm, must try it next time!

Bused home with love & bought my dinner (bread. again) & got my coffee stocked up as well!
